BROOKFIELD, Wis. (KMSP) -

New details were released Monday following a mass shooting at a suburban Milwaukee spa. The shooting happened just miles from a Sikh temple where six people were killed back in August.

Brookfield, Wis., police said the slayings were "domestic violence related." The suspect, identified by police as Radcliffe Franklin Haughton, went to his estranged wife's workplace and opened fire on Sunday.

"I saw a girl coming out of the salon and she was bleeding from the neck with a paper towel over her neck and she was very hurt," said eyewitness Joe Brent.

Witnesses said the Azana Salon and the area around it fell under absolute chaos around 11 a.m. Sunday. Haughton started shooting, killing three women and wounding four others. His estranged wife was among the dead.

After locking-down the entire area and searching a number of other businesses because they believed Haughton had fled, SWAT teams found his body in a small locked room in the spa, where he had shot himself.

One of the first Red Cross volunteers at the scene Sunday is a member of the Sikh temple, and is still recovering from their ordeal.

"Just even driving up and seeing the magnitude of the law enforcement response and seeing the towers hours from the news vans just kind of sends chills down my spine," said Gurmukh Singh.

Haughton's father told reporters he had no idea his son was capable of violence like this.

Haughton's wife, on the other hand, had some indication. Just last Thursday, she asked for and was granted a four-year restraining order against him after police arrested him for slashing her tires earlier this month.

Officials say Haughton bought the gun he used in the massacre just two days after receiving a court order demanding that he turn over all of his firearms.
