Campus police sent out an alert on Wednesday after a University of Georgia student says she was raped by a stranger just outside of a dorm.
A student went to university health services after allegedly being raped by a stranger around 1 a.m. on Tuesday. The reported rape occurred outside of Vandiver Hall near some dumpsters.
Students were concerned to hear about the rape.
"It makes me wonder, could that be me? You just put yourself in that situation and my heart goes out to her," said Melissa Allen.
Allen said that she took a women's self-defense class as a freshman, but has not worried about needing those skill until now.
"It's just very, very scary and I hope and pray it doesn't happen to anybody else," said Allen.
The victim did not want to go to police.
Authorities said they have made no arrests and have no suspects.
