MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

A few weeks ago, FOX 9 News introduced a professional wrestler from Minnesota who was heralded as a hero for putting an unruly man in a sleeper hold on the light rail. Now, newly-released surveillance video shows just what happened that day.

Shawn Daivari has worked with the WWE and is currently with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, but one of his most interesting take-downs took place on a train en route to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

Over the years, Daivari developed a strangle-hold on appearing as a menacing, Middle Eastern bad guy, but surveillance footage shows he did not choke when faced with an opponent outside of the ring.

The video begins with Daivari sitting in the middle of a light rail car that, but he soon got a front-row seat to some sudden aggression.

Daivari told FOX 9 News the man with the backpack, Levin Blair, was already drunk and swearing at fellow passengers when he boarded the train, but an already-uncomfortable situation got a whole lot worse when a man got on at the Metrodome stop and asked Blair to move so he could put his bicycle in the rack.

Blair wasn't happy about that, and was even less thrilled with another passenger who asked him to sit down and be quiet.

"That's when he got in the passenger's face, saying, 'I am going to kill you,' and stuff like that," Daivari said.

That's when Daivari had decided enough was enough. He took off his sunglasses and jacket and put Blair in a sleeper hold called a "rear naked choke hold," bringing him to the floor. For the next minute or so, Daivari held Blair in a scissor hold that caused him to not only lose consciousness, but also lose control of his bladder.

At the next stop, Daivari and another passenger threw Blair off the train -- and Daivari made sure he stayed put on the platform with a few final kicks, tossing Blair his backpack while another passenger tossed out his coat and cap. The train then pulled away, leaving Blair behind on the platform, dazed and confused.

While the situation ended harmlessly, Metro Transit officials say they know not every passenger is a professional wrestler willing to step in. Still, spokesman John Siqveland said the other people on the train did exactly what they should have to protect themselves.

"Use the callbox. Call 911, and find a different place on the train to get away from anything that might come up," he advised.

Siqveland said it took police 9 minutes to get to the Cedar Riverside light rail platform to find Blair, who was uncooperative. Once they caught up with the passengers at the Mall of America, none said they were interested in pressing charges.

Even though no police showed up during the incident, Siqveland said they were called the second a passenger hit the emergency button. Police were also in touch with the rail operator, who was monitoring the situation the entire time.
