For Sale: Justin Smith money-covered dog statue
NORTH ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) -
On Monday, Luther Auctions will oversee the sale of Tom Petters' possessions, which were seized by U.S. marshals when the businessman was convicted in a Ponzi scheme.
The proceeds from the auction will go toward repaying Petters' victims, and many of the items for sale are rare sports memorabilia ranging from autographed balls, jerseys, and photos to bobble heads.
There is plenty of diversity among the items up for grabs, from fishing gear and pellet guns to vintage records and dishware. Furniture and artwork, including a Justin Smith sculpture of a money-covered dog -- will also be sold.
A full list of the items to be sold can be found online, and photographs are included. In all, 490 separate lots are up for sale.
The auction is going to kick off at 6 p.m. on Monday, but shoppers can preview the items for sale on Sunday between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.
The auction will be held at the following location:
