This photo says it all. Tigers' pitcher Max Scherzer takes a victory swig of champagne.
DETROIT (WJBK) -
It wasn't easy. It took five games, but the Detroit Tigers beat the Oakland A's 6-0 to win an American League Divisional playoff series three games to two.
This may give the team a chance to finally sigh some relief after huge expectations were made for this team before the season started.
After signing Prince Fielder and returning the reining AL-MVP Justin Verlander, this team seemed destined for the World Series.
They're a step closer but critics may find it hard to call this season a failure as the Tiger's are now headed to the American League Championship series.
No wonder they celebrated in style in the A's visiting locker room.
Check out the photo gallery and more importantly enjoy the ride! Let's hope there are two more champagne parties to enjoy.
GO TIGERS!!
