Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch confirms that four juveniles were taken into custody on Wednesday after "an altercation" at the school that included an assault on an officer.
Officials say the school requested help on Wednesday, and arriving authorities found students were "involved in disruptive behavior," but they declined to elaborate.
Burch said one officer was assaulted during the incident, but no staff members or students were injured. No additional details about the assault were given.
Four of the juveniles were taken to the Northwest Juvenile Center to await formal charges.
Officers from the Cass County Sheriff's Office, along with the Walker Police Department, Leech Lake Tribal Police, Hubbard County Sheriff's Office, the Minnesota State Patrol and the Department of Natural Resources responded.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office is continuing the investigation and is working with the school.
