The 2012-2013 season begins tonight for the Minnesota Timberwolves as they face the Indiana Pacers in Fargo tonight.
Sporting a new look lineup, only four players from last year's team will take the floor tonight. Kevin Love, Nikola Pekovic, Derrick Williams and J.J. Barea are the only active players that were with the team last year.
Tonight marks the Wolves debuts of Brandon Roy and Andrei Kirilenko who return to the NBA following one year away from the game.
About the Pacers:
Indiana finished last season 42-24 earning the third seed in the Eastern Conference. The Pacers defeated the Orlando Magic in the first round of the playoffs before falling to the Miami Heat 4-2 in the second round.
Danny Granger, who led the Pacers in scoring (18.7 ppg) is not expected to play in tonight's game.
Last Trip to Fargo:
The Wolves last visited Fargo in 2002 where they defeated Milwaukee 88-82. Overall, the team has a 2-4 record in exhibition play at the Fargodome.
Injuries:
The Wolves will be without guards Luke Ridnour and Malcom Lee. Ridnour is out with back spasms and Lee is working through a left groin strain. Ricky Rubio did not make the trip to Fargo and is rehabbing his left knee following surgery on his torn ACL and LCL.
