Atlanta police are looking for at least two vehicles involved in a deadly rush hour shooting at a busy intersection.
Police say one person was killed after several shots were fired at Briarcliff Road at Ponce De Leon around 5 p.m.
Lt. Paul Guerrucci, Atlanta Police Department's homicide unit commander, says the man who was shot was the intended target, but he couldn't say if this was a case of road rage or something else.
Eyewitnesses said that the victim was in a white sedan on Moreland Drive crossing Ponce De Leon when two men in a black SUV or pickup truck opened fire. The car then lurched across the intersection and came to a stop on Briarcliff Road.
Homicide investigators are reviewing video surveillance from a number of cameras in the area including a camera at a gas station.
Crime scene technicians scoured the area for evidence. A K-9 was used to track the scent of potential suspects. The investigation could also advance if more eyewitnesses come forward.
"We're asking anybody who has not already spoken to us to please get in contact with us to forward any information they may have," said Guerrucci.
The victim was described by police as a white man in his 20s. His name has not been released.
