DULUTH, Minn. (KMSP) -
A Duluth, Minn. police officer is under investigation after cameras show him severely beating a man in a detox center.
Surveillance video from last Friday shows Officer Richard Jouppi attacking and repeatedly beating the man in a wheelchair.
The suspect, 50-year-old Anthony Jackson, did hit Officer Jouppi first. But Jouppi responded with a violent attack, eventually pulling him out of the wheelchair.
Officer Jouppi has been placed on administrative leave. The Duluth News Tribune says he worked for St. Paul police from 2008 to 2010.
