Police are warning residents in Forsyth and Fulton counties about a man who allegedly tried to entice children into his vehicle.
An eighth-grade student in the Blackstone subdivision in Johns Creek reported a suspicious man trying to lure her into his vehicle after she got off the school bus on September 14.
Her mom, who asked not to be identified, says her daughter has been anxious ever since the incident.
"She's become a little fearful, but I make sure I stand out every day until she overcomes that fear," said the mother.
The girl told police the man was Asian and in his 30's to 40's. She ran home and told her parents what happened.
Forsyth County Sheriff's officials report a similar incident in the Deerlake subdivision off Peachtree Parkway on September 6. In that case, a man tried to lure an 8-year-old boy into a white van. The child got away.
Both victims gave similar descriptions of the would-be abductor.
The eighth-grade student's mother says police have stepped up patrols in the area and parents are keeping their kids close by.
The Blackstone homeowner's association is reviewing security video from surveillance cameras to see if the suspect was captured on tape.
Anyone with information on the case is urged to contact police.
