Puerto Rican Flag Raised Outside Philly City Hall For Heritage Week

Posted: Updated:

Ahead of Sunday's Puerto Rican Day Parade in Philadelphia, members of the Puerto Rican community raised their country's flag in celebration of Puerto Rican Heritage Week.

Philadelphia Councilwoman Maria Quinones Sanchez was on-hand outside of city hall Monday for the flag raising.

Family members of fallen Officer Brian Lorenzo also attended the ceremony.

Puerto Rican Heritage Week comes to an end with the parade on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway Sunday. The city says the first parade in Philadelphia was held on July 25, 1953
