A valley woman stole an ambulance and led police on a chase Friday evening.
Police said 26-year-old Joni Marie Sweet hopped behind the wheel of an ambulance and drove off.
The ambulance was parked outside of Phoenix Baptist Hospital off Bethany Home Road and 21st Avenue.
Ambulance attendants had left the vehicle running while they went inside to get a patient.
Police said Sweet drove off in the ambulance and refused to pull over for officers. They followed her by air.
Police tailed Sweet from Phoenix, into Glendale and back to Phoenix. They finally cornered her at 27th Avenue and Beardsley Road.
No one was hurt, the only damage was to the ambulance.
Sweet was booked for motor vehicle theft, criminal damage and a prescription drug violation.
