Children's Leukemia Foundation of Michigan hosts culinary and wine fundraiser

Chef James Rigato, executive chef at The Root Restaurant and Bar in White Lake joins Fox 2's Kam Carman in the Fox 2 Kitchen to show her how to make butternut squash.

Rigato is one of the many chefs who will be providing fantastic cuisine at a weekend fundraiser in Birmingham.  Play the video for the recipe, come to the event for a good time for a great cause.

WHO: Children's Leukemia Foundation of Michigan, a statewide nonprofit organization helping families cope with leukemia, lymphoma and related disorders by providing information, financial assistance and emotional support. CLF is celebrating its 60th anniversary in early October.

WHAT: CRUSH Birmingham Wine and Food Classic fifth annual fundraiser. Local and national culinary connoisseurs will join renowned wine personalities and master sommeliers who will describe, advise and recommend some of the year's most exquisite wine choices and pairings. Thirteen executive chefs from the following Michigan restaurants will be in attendance: Tallulah, Trattoria Stella, Westin Book Cadillac, The Rugby Grille, Capital Grille, Toasted Oak, Cuisine, La Becasse, Zazios, Reserve, Bacco Ristorante, The Root Restaurant and Bar, Cinco Lagos and Forest Grill.

To keep the party going, CRUSH guests are also invited to stay for the fifth annual Rémy Cointreau USA CRUSH Birmingham After-Hours event, held at the Townsend Hotel. Guests can enjoy mixing great music with an array of Rémy luxury spirits for late night enjoyment. Midnight bites will also be featured.

Schedule of Events:

6-7 p.m. – Patron admission and private champagne

Reception

6:30-10 p.m. – General admission, wine-food pairing stations

10 p.m.-1 a.m. – After Hours event

COST:            Patron admission tickets include a private champagne reception, access to the main wine-food pairing event and After Hours for $350. General admission for the wine-foodpairing event and After Hours is $250. For young adults ages 21-30, the general admission cost is $125.
