MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -
Minneapolis police have released surveillance photos of the suspect in a sucker punch attack in the Lyn-Lake area this past summer.
On June 24, officers were called to 404 W. Lake Street on a reported assault. The victim said he was walking on sidewalk when a man approached him and extended his hand to shake his, but instead sucker punched him on the side of the neck.
The victim fell to the ground and was taken to Abbott Northwestern Hospital, where doctors found damage to his larynx that required surgery.
Surveillance obtained from the scene revealed that suspect pictured was responsible.
The case was assigned to Sgt. Mark Osland of the Minneapolis Police Department's assault unit. He is asking if any knows the identity of the suspect or has any additional information to please call him at 612-673-3705. The case number for this event is 12-194826.
