The suspect entered the 7-Eleven on Crescent Lake at Pontiac Lake Road at 10:30 p.m. last Wednesday. The video shows a man brandishing a long barreled pistol and pointing it at the 58-year-old clerk behind the counter.

"While he was doing that, he told the clerk that his mother was dying of cancer," said Waterford Police Sergeant Chet Bartle.

Signs posted on the door of the 7-Eleven say the store has less than $30 after dark and a time lock safe that the clerk cannot open. Police said this guy did not get away with much money at all.

Police also said the clerk remained calm throughout the ordeal and told them the suspect was adamant about why he needed the money.

"She was able to clearly articulate who he was, what he looked like, what he said, 'My mom is dying of cancer,'" Bartle explained.

The suspect is a white man with blue eyes around 5'10" tall and weighing 150 pounds. He was wearing a camouflaged cap and a hoodie. He took off in a dark colored vehicle, possibly a four door.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Waterford Police at (248) 618-6664.
