What do the start of the school year and the start of the NFL season have to do with each other? The two beginnings were incorporated in an event where several Vikings players invited fans to watch the season opener with them while gathering school supplies for kids in need.
Vikings players like Jerome Simpson, Fred Evans and Jamarca Sanford traded autographs and footballs for book bags and sharpies. All in all, it was a way to help needy kids get a well-supplied start to the school year -- an effort that hits home with Jamarca Sanford.
