SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (MyFox Detroit) -
Kittisak Clayphotong, 47, of Flint has been charged in connection to the hit and run accident Monday night that killed bicyclist Andrew Macielak.
Macielak, 51, was riding his bicycle near 14 Mile and Ryan around 8:30p.m. when he was hit by a car. He died at the scene.
Warren police say the driver of the car, Clayphotong, was drunk. Police arrested him after he allegedly fled the scene, blew a tire at a nearby 7-Eleven, then tried to get away on foot.
He has been charged with two felonies: operating while intoxicated causing death and failure to stop at scene of accident resulting in death. Both charges carry a sentence up to 15 years in prison.
Clayphotong plead not guilty at his arraignment Wednesday. A judge set bond at $20,000.
