Motorcycle crash kills Austin woman

A motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon claims the life of a woman from Austin, Minn.

Dana Legried, 38, was riding with her husband on Highway 16 in Fillmore County when the bike lost control, went into a ditch, and struck a pole, the Minnesota State Patrol said.

Paul Legried, 49, who was driving the 2012 Harley Davidson, was transferred to St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester for non life-threatening injuries.

According to the state patrol, neither was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, and alcohol did not play a factor.

The crash is under investigation.
