EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (KMSP) -
A steel frame collapsed on a construction site in Eden Prairie late Saturday morning.
Eden Prairie firefighters on the scene confirm six construction workers were on site when the incident occurred. One worker was extricated from the damage and transported to an area hospital.
The injured man was conscious and breathing at the time, and his injuries are not considered life threatening.
Eden Prairie Fire Department Assistant Chief Tom Schmitz said it was a miracle there were no major injuries.
The incident took place at Champions Hall, a refurbished printing plant used for volleyball. According to the Minneapolis Business Journal, the site was in the process of being transformed into a multi-sport athletic field and curling club.
There were two cranes, a forklift and two cars on the scene -- one of which was crushed by a beam.
Authorities on scene said they did not know what caused the collapse, but the city of Eden Prairie's Building Inspection team will be investigating.
