NUNAVUT, Canada -
The Google Maps team is using a specially-designed three-wheeled bike to map streets in the newest Canadian province, Nunavut.
This is the first time the online map team has been this far north in Canada.
Google posted photos of its project on its blog this week. The team is using local volunteers and other resources to help them map Cambridge Bay. The hamlet is considered one of the most isolated in the world.
Street and landmark names will be in both English and Inuktitut, a native language.
Nunavut has about 32,000 people scattered across 787,000 square miles. It became its own province in April 1999.
