Dangerously Delicious Pies come to Detroit - KMSP-TV

Maryland pie maven Rodney Henry has brought his Dangerously Delicious Pies to Detroit. Henry and his unique savory are now available at the Comet Bar in the city's Cass Corridor neighborhood. The Comet's located at 128 Henry St. across from I-75.

Slices are available seven days a week for $5 (whole pies $25) beginning at 6 p.m.

Henry stopped by The Nine on Wednesday to talk about his business and show us how to make one of his signature pies. See the recipe below:

Steak, Mushroom and Gruyere Pie

Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds of cubed steak cooked medium rare
2 cups gruyere cheese
2 cups sweet onion
2 cups mushrooms
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbs butter
3 cloves pressed garlic

Method:
Reduce onions in butter and 3 cloves of pressed garlic during reduction
Reduce mushrooms on stove top as well
Take and mix all ingredients together until uniform
Add filling in crust (store bought is fine)
Put top crust on cut vents
Butter top crust and bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes or until it's golden brown with gravy coming out of the vent.
