BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (KMSP) -
Several large fights broke out at 8:19 p.m. on Mall of America's fourth floor by the movie theaters. The Sunday night violence reportedly spilled into the third floor food court.
Responding Bloomington police and MOA security detained and cited four suspects from the brawling, mostly teen-aged crowd. Multiple verbal altercations ensued after the fighting. All others involved were asked to leave the premises.
The citations were issued after some refused to leave and were participating in disorderly behavior. A 17-year-old male, a 16-year-old female and a 15-year-old female were cited for Disorderly Conduct. Another 15-year-old was cited for Obstructing Legal Process.
No reports of injuries or property damage were issued.
The incident is being undertaken by the Hennepin County Attorney's Office Juvenile Division for consideration of criminal charges.
