Minneapolis police investigate city's 20th homicide after shooting victim dies

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

Minneapolis police are investigating the city's20th homicide of the year after a man was shot on the south sidejust before 9 p.m. on Saturday.

Officers found a man with gunshot wounds at the intersection of 22nd Street and Portland Avenue South while responding to a report of shots fired. The victim was taken to HCMC, but he died shortly before 9:30 p.m.

Investigators told FOX 9 News they believe the man was shot inside the hallway of an apartment building in the 2200 block of 5th Avenue South, but no arrests have been made.

Police have not yet identified the victim, saying only that he is a man who is believed to be in his 30s.
