ROBBINSDALE, Minn. (KMSP) -

Two people were injured when their speeding motorcycle crashed into a power pole at a T intersection in Robbinsdale overnight.

The crash happened around 1 a.m. Friday at the intersection of 42nd Avenue and Welcome Avenue.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, both people were on the motorcycle when it lost control, went off the road and slammed into the power pole. Investigators say the motorcycle was going too fast when it approached the intersection.

Both riders, a 29-year-old St. Louis Park man and a 23-year-old woman from Crystal, were taken to North Memorial Medical Center in critical condition. They were both wearing helmets.
