Authorities say a man has surrendered in connection with the shooting of an off-duty NYPD detective in New Jersey Friday.
Monmouth County officials said 35-year-old Robert Dunbar of Staten Island turned himself in late Saturday night. Dunbar faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose.
Published reports say the incident was from a dispute over an apparent love triangle. Dunbar caught the detective at the home of his estranged wife in Manalapan. The men fought over the detective's weapon.
The bullet grazed the unidentified detective's shoulder.
The detective is assigned to the 63rd Precinct in Brooklyn.
