Amy Senser appeals hit-and-run conviction

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - The attorney for Amy Senser is appealing her conviction in the hit-and-run death of a man on a Minneapolis exit ramp last August.

The Star Tribune reported that Senser's attorney filed the 33-page document Friday with the Minnesota Court of Appeals.

Senser's attorney cites a note that the jury wanted read to Senser when the verdict was announced in May.

The filing also cites lack of evidence proving Senser knew the accident killed Anousone Phanthavong. He was struck and killed while filling his tank with gas on a freeway exit ramp.

Officials with the Hennepin County Attorney's Office declined to comment because they hadn't seen the filing.

Senser was sentenced in July to nearly 3½ years in prison. She is the wife of former Minnesota Viking Joe Senser.
