Oxford High School might have one of the coolest looking football fields in the state, but it comes at a price. Five football supporters fronted the money for a new blue turf field by using their homes as collateral. Now, they could lose their homes.

Members of the Oxford Boosters are putting out the call for help. They need to raise $300,000 by September 1st, or five members risk losing their homes. A blue artificial turf playing field is a crown jewel for the Oxford Wildcats. Five local boosters made the dream a reality. When voters turned down a milage in 2010 to the cover the 400,000 price tag, the members put their houses up for collateral. They thought sponsors would cover the cost.
"We had partnership program with astro turf," said Jim Reis. "We both worked hard on it but for Oxford, it didn't work. It was trying to get corporate sponsors sewn into the field."
Reis is a school board member and one of the boosters that bet his house on the new field. Despite the looming deadline, he says he'd do it again.
The 24th Street Tavern will be host a fundraiser on August 21st. It starts at 4pm. You can also donate online by CLICKING HERE. Any amount of money would be appreciated.
