At Minnesota Farmfest, a lot of farmers were feeling less-than-festive since Congress took several weeks off and left a bill offering agricultural aid behind to gather dust.
Rep. Collin Peterson is the lead Democrat on the House Agriculture Committee, and he said he too is frustrated that the federal farm bill hasn't passed yet.
Peterson blamed the major divide -- and thus the delay -- on House Republicans.
The Inaction also led to a failure to pass emergency aid for farmers and ranchers affected by the current drought.
The deadline to pass the bill is Sept. 30, but Peterson is hopeful it will be finished when Congress returns to work after Labor Day.
