On Tuesday, Police chief Ann Weillens confirmed that Misty M. Cook was arrested on a tentative charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The Associated Press reported there is no immediate indication that her arrest is linked to the shooting on Sunday. Police refused to provide additional details.
At this time, it is not clear what Cook's felony conviction was. Online court records don't list any felony prosecutions.
Wade Michael Page, a discharged veteran with white supremacist ties, has been identified as gunman. Police still have not released a motive for his rampage.
Page bought the 9-millimeter handgun he used in the massacre at a shop in a Milwaukee suburb. The store's owner says Page cleared all the usual background checks.
Surveillance video of the sale shows that Page appeared normal when making that purchase, the owner said.
