Oak Creek Police Lt. Brian Murphy was the first at the scene on Sunday, and he was ambushed and shot nine times by the gunman. When officers rushed to his side, he waved them off and told them to go inside to help the people in the temple.
Stanek told FOX 9 News that members of the public can help law enforcement officers intercept lone-wolf attackers before they strike by reporting threats or any observed suspicious activity.
