Thieves make off with daycare's playground toys

Posted: Updated:
PEORIA, Ariz. -

A Peoria daycare was broken into August 6 and thousands of dollars in toys were taken. And now police are trying to figure out who was behind it.

Inside the Lil Pardners Daycare in Peoria, all is well. Kids are learning, toddlers are napping, but when you step outside nearly every single toy they had has vanished.

"I went out there and all the toys were gone, everything was gone," says Joanna Allan, Lil Pardners Daycare.

The daycare has surveillance cameras inside. The camera caught a little bit, but it's not very clear and it only shows feet.

They believe two people broke into the back gate of the daycare and took a caterpillar play tunnel, a kid's picnic table, a small swing set, a water table, dozens of chairs and two children's tables, along with several children's cars with various designs and children's bikes [see attached images].

"It hurts that they can't go out and play now or anything, they loved it outside."

The daycare has been open for 3 years. It already cut expenses and tuition, and now they have to deal with this.

They estimate it's a $6,000 loss. The theft happened about 1 a.m. Saturday, August 6. If you have any information, call police.
