BARBACOA
(Guisado means like a meat stew.)
Barbacoa: traditionally slow cooked over an open flame, typically of goat or beef, though
barbacoa is often a term used more loosely and can also include steam cooked)
Create your own ‘guisados' with our tender, shredded beef barbacoa:
1. For Tacos, Burritos, Nachos:
Sautee
1/2 thinly sliced onion
1/2 thinly sliced bell peppers
1 finely chopped garlic clove
optional: thinly sliced serrano or jalapeno
1-2 tbsp oil
Heat oil in skillet and sautee vegetables, then add about 1lb cooked barbacoa, and
gently mix together until meat fully heated. Then serve on nachos, in tacos, or burritos!
2. Guisado de Barbacoa: follow recipe #1, then add a favorite salsa and simmer until
heated through, complete with side of mexican rice & beans.
3. Breakfast Machaca: follow recipe #1, then add 2 scrambled eggs and stir together
until eggs fully cooked. Makes great breakfast burritos or serve with a side of beans
& salsa for a delicious mexican breakfast!
