The murder trial of former Illinois officer Drew Peterson has become one of the most famous in U.S. History, and FOX 9 News spoke with an attorney about why the case is so special and how the trial might play out.
Peterson is accused of killing his third wife, Kathleen Savio, during a bitter divorce in 2004 and making her drowning look like an accident. His fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, disappeared three years later. He's been behind bars since 2009 while awaiting trial, and opening statements were finally heard on Tuesday.
Kevin Devore, an attorney who has tried several murder cases, joined FOX 9 News to discuss how a botched investigation, from-the-grave testimony, and lack of physical evidence will impact the trial.
