Former Bachmann aide sues campaign alleging theft

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - An Iowa campaign aide for former GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann is suing the Minnesota congresswoman and a former top staffer, alleging an official stole a private email list and blamed her for its use.

Barb Heki, of Johnston, filed a lawsuit Monday in Polk County District Court accusing state Sen. Kent Sorenson of taking the list from Heki's computer to reach Christian home-school advocates before the Iowa caucuses.

Sorenson was Bachmann's Iowa campaign chairman. Heki coordinated home-school supporters.

Heki claims she was blamed after the emails were sent to members of the Network of Iowa Christian Home Educators.

She was later removed from state and national home-school advocacy boards.

Bachmann quit the race on Jan. 4.

Calls to Bachmann and Sorenson weren't immediately returned.
