ST. ANTHONY, Minn. (KMSP) -
A missing school mascot is back at its St. Anthony elementary school home.
Wilshire Elementary School principal Kari Page said the hand-carved wooden statue was back in its place when she arrived at the school Friday morning – although it was a bit scuffed up.
Police say surveillance video shows the bear was pried free from the bolts that anchored it to the cement below its paws on July 16.
On July 25, the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension put out a crime alert regarding the theft.
The panda, one of three in front of the school, has welcomed students to school for over a decade.
