NORTHVILLE, Mich. (WJBK) -
A rinse and style topped off with the perfect nail color. A perfect summer day for twelve-year-old Shilo.
"Everyone usually calls me Shi-Shi, and then some people call me Lo-Lo because Shi-Shi Lo-Lo," she said.
An afternoon of pampering at Salon Tre Bella V in Northville sounds like a dream for any girly girl, but especially for this one.
"I love going to JCPenny and Macy's and Payless and Disney."
Like most kids, Shilo also likes to read, watch TV and play outside.
"We usually play jump rope, and it's just ice cream, ice cream, cherry on top, how many boyfriend do you got? And you keep on going."
Just like her smile keeps on going.
"Shilo is a great kid. She is a lot of fun, girly girl, likes to shop, have her nails done and her hair. She is just a really fun kid. I always see her smiling," said Heidi Raubenolt, program manager for the Michigan Adoption Resource Exchange.
"I'm smart and ... I love school," Shilo said. "I get As and Bs. I love doing social studies."
Shilo says she hopes for a forever family that will help her stay in contact with her brothers and sisters, one that is nice, friendly and kind. To that forever family, she says, "That I'd really like to meet them, and then I hope you're kind and like respectful and then I can give respect back."
To inquire about adopting Shilo, contact the Michigan Adoption Resource Exchange at 800-589-6273 or www.mare.org.
