‘Dark Knight' director cancels French premiere after shooting

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The French premiere for "The Dark Knight Rises" has been canceled following a shooting at an early Friday morning showing of the film at a suburban Colorado theater.

FOX Chicago Entertainment Reporter Bill Zwecker reports that the decision to cancel the Paris red carpet premier in Paris came directly from the film's director, Christopher Nolan.

Warner Brothers released a statement Friday saying they're deeply saddened to hear about the shooting and extend their deepest sympathies to the family of the victims.
