It's lights out for a popular Metro Detroit night club. The South Bar is Birmingham has closed its door.
The new hotspot is apparently too hot for Birmingham. The popular restaurant and night club South Bar has become famous for all the wrong reasons. Instead of celebrity sightings, all the talk has been about shootings - most recently early Monday morning, when a fight outside led to a gun being fired. And now the club is closed.
The club has had a history of problems. A woman fired a gun outside the club back in April and last year, the NFL's Braylon Edwards was involved in an incident that ended with an employee stabbed with a fork.
Revocation of the bar's liquor license will be one of the topics at next week's city commission meeting.
