Have you ever lost something on the Long Island Rail Road and wondered where it goes? If you are lucky, it ends up in the cramped quarters of the Lost and Found department in Penn Station.

The LIRR takes in more than 15,000 lost items every year.

Fox 5 got a tour of the location and found out how the MTA reunites commuters with their mundane, expensive, and even bizarre items.

If you have lost something, call 511.
