MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -
Tyrell Baymon is finally getting to celebrate the fourth birthday party he deserved.
The St. Paul boy was struck and seriously injured on his birthday by a hit-and-run motorcyclist while his family was getting ready to leave for Como Park.
After seeing his story on the news, the Family Circle Childcare Center in south Minneapolis "adopted" Tyrell, sending him get-well cards and praying for his health everyday while he was in the hospital.
Tuesday, the Baymon family will stop by the daycare for a pizza and ice cream party, and the kids at the daycare want to give him a belated birthday gift.
Tyrell's mother, Marcia, said the four-year-old is back to singing his ABCs and counting as he continues his recovery. That recovery has been remarkable, as Tyrell was already playing catch and riding his tricycle on his first day back home last month.
