Two dead after Apple Valley apartment shooting

APPLE VALLEY, Minn. (KMSP) -

Two people are dead after a shooting in Apple Valley Saturday morning.

Police were called to the Cedar Knolls apartment complex shortly after 8:30 a.m. after they received a report of multiple shots fired in a parking lot.

When officers arrived, both individuals, both 41-years-old, were unresponsive.

Apple Valley Police and Allina Paramedics administered medical aid, but both died at the scene.

A weapon was located next to one of the bodies, and police do not believe anyone else was involved or that there is any threat to the public.

The incident is being investigated by the Apple Valley Police Department and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
