Red-light safety cameras in New Jersey caught a horrific accident involving a car that went through a red light.

The video was recorded at the intersection of Locust St. and Westfield Ave. in Roselle Park.

The crash took place on June 29, 2012 at approximately 5:28 a.m.

A car that went through a light was broadsided, went airborne and flipped.

The driver was identified by Roselle Park Police as Christian Irala, 29, of Elizabeth.  He was charged with DWI and other offenses after the crash.

The video was posted by American Traffic Solutions (ATS), which regularly highlights videos of accidents caught by its traffic cameras.

ATS says Roselle Park implemented its red-light safety camera program in May 2011.

Since the program's start, red-light running violations have decreased 47% at that intersection, according to ATS.
