MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -
The Minnesota Timberwolves waived center Darko Milicic on Thursday, designating him as the team's amnesty player.
The NBA's one-time amnesty rule allows a team to waive a player and not have his salary count against the salary cap or luxury tax.
Milicic spent parts of three seasons as the Wolves' starting center, averaging 7.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks over 122 games, 110 starts in Minnesota.
