The Ramsey County Attorney's Office has filed criminal charges relating to the crash that killed a Harding High School student Thursday afternoon.
According to the criminal complaint, Clarisse Grime was sitting with her boyfriend, when an SUV driven by Carlos Viveros-Colorado struck and killed her. Grime's boyfriend was also injured in the crash, but his injuries were non-life threatening.
Viveros-Colorado is charged with one count of criminal vehicular homicide.
The complaint says that Viveros-Colorado's left leg and right arm went numb while driving, causing him to lose control, hitting a sign, fire hydrant, going over a curb, and down an embankment, where he struck the two teenagers.
Viveros-Colorado claims he has had problems with numbness for a few months, and admitted it was dangerous for him to drive
He is currently being held in the Ramsey County Jail and is expected to make his first court appearance on Monday.
