The use of physical punishment in children is controversial. Many parents believe it's an effective way to discipline their children while the American Academy of Pediatrics is opposed to striking a child for any reason. A new study published this week in the journal, Pediatrics, shows that harsh physical punishment increases the risk of psychological disorders in children as they get older.
