TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - A new smoking and tobacco ban is in place at all Maricopa County Community College District facilities.
The ban takes effect Monday and ends the presence of designated smoking areas on all campuses.
The ban is only in effect on district-owned property; and it does not extend to the perimeter sidewalks.
Chancellor Rufus Glasper said in a statement that the smoking ban following a growing trend on college campuses.
The college district approved the new ban last fall.
