It may not be considered a cold case, but the trail on this suspected rapist has certainly gone cold, which is why the FBI is looking for help.
The FBI says the crime occurred back in April 1984 when 3 men abducted a woman on Chicago's near west side -- the men attacked her, beat and raped her, and left her for dead. Subsequent investigation by the Chicago Police Department later led to the arrest of the three subjects who were charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, aggravated battery, and rape.
One suspect was Adalberto Saenz. After his initial appearance, Saenz was released on bond pending trial. He never showed up. In May 1985 a local warrant was issued for his arrest, but Saenz was never found.
In 2002, after a federal judge issued a warrant charging him with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, the FBI began working with local police to help find and arrest him.
The photo the FBI has is from back in 1984. Saenz has certainly aged since then.
Agents thought they had tracked him down in 2004, and although the individual they located shared the identical name and date of birth as the fugitive, a fingerprint comparison determined that he was not the Adalberto Saenz they were looking for. Since then agents received no significant leads on Saenz's whereabouts.
Saenz's last known address was in the 1400 block of West Superior, but he also has ties to other parts of Illinois and also to Texas, where he claimed he was born. He also could be in Mexico where he has connections as well.

Hispanic male.
64 years old.
At the time of the attack he was 5'6'' and weighed 140 pounds.
He had black hair and brown eyes and a light complexion.
He is considered and dangerous, if you see him call police.
