Police investigated an apparent murder-suicide in an upscale Mahwah, N.J. neighborhood Friday morning.

A woman had called police saying her 82-year-old father had killed her 79-year-old mother and was threatening to kill himself.

When police arrived at the house on Polo Lane they found the mother with a gunshot wound to the head.

The Bergen County SWAT team responded to search for the suspected shooter. But a Mahwah police officer soon found the man lying face down in the back yard, apparently dead from a self-inflicted gunshot to the head.

Cops found a gun at the scene and two spent shell casings.
