Two young brothers climbed a fence bordering their yard and then apparently drowning in their neighbor's swimming pool Thursday evening in Union Township, N.J., according to officials.
Police responded to a 911 call to the house at about 6:45 p.m. and found the kids at the bottom of the pool.
The siblings have been identified as Kendell and Kenley Franciois, ages 3 and 5.
Responders performed CPR on the boys, but were not able to save them.
Their mother was asleep when they wandered off.
The Union County prosecutor says an investigation is underway to make sure there was no neglect involved.
