Minneapolis baby taken from foster care, mother wanted by police

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -

Minneapolis police are asking the public to help them find a 6-month-old baby that was taken from foster care by his mother, who does not have custodial rights.

Officers responded to the 24000 block of Sheridan Avenue North shortly after 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday to a report that 16-year-old Kamerei McCabe took her son, Shaquan Ruford, during a court-ordered supervised visitation.

Officials say McCabe was last seen with the child before noon on Wednesday, and police say they have reason to believe she cannot adequately care for the boy and could pose a threat to him.

The two are still believed to be in Minneapolis, probably on the city's north side. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mccabe or Ruford are ask to call 911 or 612-673-2345.
